Door glass alignment

This was probably the worst thing in the whole process of this car.

After getting all the weatherstripping in the door opening installed the process goes like this: First, align the vent window corner. Then, align the door glass to the vent window and the top of the door opening. And finally, align the quarter glass to the door glass.

There’s a great video on youtube of this being done. It sounds simple but I repeated this over and over, wasted a lot of time, and just couldn’t get it perfect. So this is probably as good as it can be. I started off with a massive gap between the door glass and the quarter glass. I managed to close that gap up. But there are still plenty of places where water seeps in when spraying with a hose… Oh well, it’ll be a fair weather car anyway…

I will have to try and pack out the rubber seals a bit. And I think completely seal the vent window. The worst part for leakage is around the vent window, the part where the door glass meets the quarter glass is actually well sealed. There’s nothing left to do in terms of mechanical alignment so I can continue with getting the interior in.
